OHIOMHAS:
4 HOPE CRISIS TEXT LINE CAMPAIGN

Background: OhioMHAS partnered with the national Crisis Text Line to offer Ohio residents a state-specific keyword for accessing free, confidential support via text on mobile devices. By texting the keyword "4HOPE" to 741741, individuals can connect with a Crisis Counselor. The initiative is designed to expand and diversify the population using the service.

 

Target Audiences: Black, Asian American and Pacific Islanders, Hispanic and Latino, rural and Appalachian, LGBTQ+.

 

Timeframe: 2 years 

 

Goal: We developed and implemented three events in Cleveland, Akron, and Columbus to raise awareness for Ohio’s 4HOPE Crisis Text Line Keyword. The goal was to improve the public's understanding of critical behavioral health issues. We aimed to equip the public with basic prevention strategies, reduce stigma, and remove barriers to seeking help.

 

 Process: 

  • Meeting with OhioMHAS 4HOPE Crisis Text Line liaisons to discuss events

  • Define event objectives, goals, and desired outcomes

  • Establish budget for venue, vendors, marketing, host, and other expenses

  • Submit budget, event venue, and marketing materials to client for review and approval

  • Receive approval on all event assets

  • Secure and solidify venue, vendors, and event programming

  • Develop event timeline, schedule, activities, and teardown

  • Market the event through social media, radio, and other channels 

  • Set up ticketing / RSVP system, and tract attendee confirmations

  • Organize signage, programs, and other materials for attendees. 

  • Manage and oversee events flow, monitor timelines, and guest services

  • Collect event feedback and evaluate event success with client
